Rev. Dr. Nathaniel L. Edmond

Pastor of second Baptist Church of Elgin

Rev. Dr. Nathaniel L. Edmond was licensed into the Gospel Ministry on May 2, 1993 at the Lincoln Heights Baptist Church in Cincinnati, Ohio. He joined Second Baptist Church in November of 1993. Subsequently, he was ordained in the ministry on April 30, 1995 and was installed as Pastor of Second Baptist Church on February 20, 2000.

Under Pastor Edmond, the church has experienced tremendous growth numerically, financially, and most importantly spiritually. A few highlights and new ministries includes, “Wonderful Wednesday” midweek service, Young Adult Ministry, Public Relations Ministry, Prison Ministry including a 12 Step Drug Program, Bus Ministry, Evangelism Ministry, Kinship Care Educational Symposium and Theatre Arts Ministry. To accommodate the growing membership, a second Sunday morning worship began in June 2002. In 2006, the church completed a new multi-purpose and educational center to the current facility.
